Current

Developed the interactive, high school STEM virtual field trip: "River Lab: A Virtual Field Trip of the Chicago River" and a complimentary, hands-on summer program.

"Miranda is an exceptionally thoughtful and organized leader, and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her to develop Current's STEM curriculum. She matches deep expertise in curriculum design with strong partnership development skills. Miranda created both virtual and in-person programs for teens to learn about water quality and STEM careers, resulting in significant positive learning outcomes for students. She also brings an equity and inclusion lens to all of her work, which has made her a great fit for our work. I would strongly recommend Miranda to organizations looking to build or improve educational programs!"

Oversaw digitization of the Watershed Science Field Trip and created a system for digital asset management.

"We've worked with Miranda on two different digital projects, helping transition an existing in-person watershed science program to a digital video series with the teacher and student guides, as well as directing our non-profit's transition into digital assets management, including developing a codebook and volunteer training based on interviews with key staff. She was diligent, timely, and thorough in both projects, bringing strategic leadership, as well as developing actionable work products. We would absolutely hire her again for additional projects!"

-Melissa Williams, Executive Director at Feiro Marine Life Center

Local teacher feedback on Watershed Science:

"...the videos made the program come to life for my students. The familiar locations and sights made us feel like we were there. The outdoor environment observation activity really heightened the kids' awareness of simple things they hadn't paid attention to before."

Directed design of multi-partner, digital field trip experience: Saving the Past, Shaping the Future: A Preservation Education Program

"As Supervisor of Social Studies for the Red Clay School District, many of our fourth-grade teachers and students have participated in the Arts, Culture, Heritage (ArCH) Preservation field days in the past. For the 2020-2021 schoolyear, the Park transitioned the ArCH program to a virtual format, renaming it Saving the Past, Shaping the Future, that was able to reach even more students and keep us engaged in preservation education."

Northwestern University

Produced a training program on digital tools with young adults.

"My team worked with Miranda on a city-wide training program for out-of-school educators. We sought Miranda's services because of her expertise and because she had experience collaborating with ever-changing university projects like ours. Miranda quickly developed a curricular plan, facilitated a self-paced professional training, and supported educators along the way. Miranda was an excellent collaborator and I would not hesitate to bring her into future projects with us!"
